Lucie and I spent yesterday afternoon in North Georgia, where our wonderful cousins S, S and L had "A Tea For Two" for our North Georgia relatives to welcome Lucie to the family and to her US home. We had a wonderful time visiting with our relatives, and the food was yummy too! Lucie did beautifully with the long drive up and with meeting everyone. She was a little tired on the drive home :) Lucie amazes me the way she handles everything that is being thrown her way. The girl likes a good party!

A Busy Week
We've been home two weeks today, and Lucie has been a US citizen for two weeks! Lucie became my daughter a little over three weeks ago. It's all still amazing to me. It's so odd that Viet Nam seems so long ago already.
Last week we had a really quiet week, working to get over our sicknesses and letting Lucie get used to her new home. This week has been a busy week.
We went to Cousin M's 10th birthday party at Happy Sumo's. Lucie loved seeing her cousin and all the other girls. I was a little worried that Lucie would be frightened by the fire and the volcano, but she just took it all in. We went to church and Sunday school where Lucie enjoyed meeting everyone. I sat with her in the nursery to get her used to being there so that I can start leaving her there - I now have a 3rd party witness that she calls me Mama! We've had some fun visits with family and friends who have come to visit, and we finally got well enough to visit our next door neighbors.
Yesterday we went for our 3rd visit to our pediatrician. Lucie still has a bad ear infection. I suspected it was not well since she continues to swipe at it. So, now we are on antibiotic #3 and we are hoping it does the trick. It's a stronger one though, so I'm worried about other side effects. We'll hope for the best. The good news is that her dry cough responded to antibiotic #2 and it is gone now - thank goodness. We'll tackle all this stuff until we get completely well!
Lucie is such a happy little girl - she is just so much fun. She also loves people and is already a little flirt. At the doctor's office and grocery store she waved at every one and smiled and of course that just made me melt. She has a great belly laugh, and sometimes for no reason just laughs and laughs. When we are in bed or sitting on the sofa she likes to crawl all over me and laugh. She is also good about sharing. After she has chewed on her teething ring she offers it to me for a chew.
On to some pictures from this week....
